The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has launched a self-assessment checklist to help sole traders and the self-employed to assess how they comply under the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
GDPR come into force on 25th May 2018 and with potential heavy fines for non-compliance, it is an area important for individual businesses to ensure they get right.
The checklist is aimed at improving understanding of data protection and helping make sure sole traders are keeping third party personal data secure.
The checklist will provide a rating based on their responses as well as handy links to relevant ICO guidance and further information. It also includes practical suggestions to help stay in line with the law.
The checklist can be found on the ICO website.
